Bronze Age Way, Belvedere, London
Stuarts were contracted to cast approximately 840m² of composite concrete floor slabs onto a Kingspan MD60 holorib metal deck which, due to significant access restrictions on site, was specified to receive a steel fibre reinforced slab.
Steel fibre reinforcement is becoming more prevalent in the construction of in-situ, upper floor slabs, now that fire rating calculations have been approved and offer significant benefits to both the main contractor and flooring contractor on site.
All concrete was positioned in conjunction with a mobile concrete pump situated adjacent to our works and laid by hand in accordance with the recommendations outlined in MCRMA Technical Paper No. 13.
Although a smaller scale project than the previous case studies outlined, the successful conclusion of this project demonstrates to our customers that Stuarts will deliver any project of any size with an assurance of quality throughout.
