Founded in 1840 as Stuarts Granolithic by Peter Stuart, Stuarts have over 160 years of expertise and innovation within the in-situ concrete market.

From the introduction of granolithic paving in the late nineteenth century Stuarts prided themselves on a reputation that was synonymous with innovation and quality and, as new plant, materials and flooring techniques were made available throughout the 20th century, as market leaders by their implementation.

The advent of ready mixed concrete and advances in mix design, concrete consistency and laying techniques signalled the end of granolithic paving towards the end of the 20th century and, in June 1988, prompted the company to change its name to Stuarts Industrial Flooring Limited.

In September 1989, Stuarts laid its first floor using large area continuous daily pour methods.  The Somero S240 laser screed machine was used for the Britvic soft drinks distribution centre in Tamworth where a total area of 13,500 square metres was poured in just five days.

Stuarts have now purchased 12 laser screed machines through their three branches, each capable of laying in excess of 2,500m² of high quality in-situ concrete flooring in conjunction with a highly skilled workforce.

With an annual turnover in excess of £40 million, totalling nearly a quarter of the UK market, and with continual investment and innovation, Stuarts maintains its 160 year tradition as market leaders in their field.
